MLTW works in close association with the co-ordinating body for mountain training in the UK, MLT. This umbrella body has promoted agreement among the four Home Nation Training Boards in areas such as the administration of the WGL, ML, SPA, CWA and CWLA schemes. It has also enabled Mountain Leader Training to speak with one voice on a vast range of mountain related issues. MLTW's purpose is to develop and promote schemes for training and assessing people who wish to lead others in mountain, moorland, crag and climbing walls of the UK and Ireland.
Bryn Williams: National Development OfficerBryn has been actively climbing and mountaineering from a young age and have been working full time as an instructor since leaving college over 12 years ago. He has run his own business as a mountaineering instructor delivering a variety of skills courses and MLT awards. Bryn has also been employed by various MLT Course Providers to deliver and work on a wide range of courses over a number of years. He has severed on the committee for the AMI (Association of Mountaineering Instructors), and is also an approved Trainer for the AMI to deliver workshops to members who are working towards the MIA assessment.
During his spare time he enjoys all aspects of mountaineering, in particular ski mountaineering, and also serves as an active member of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue team, which is currently one of the busiest mountain rescue teams in the UK.
Main tasks include: - Provider and candidate support - Course moderation and quality control - Working with the other officers in developing the awards for MLT
Sue Doyle: Finance ManagerSue manages the finance for MLTW and co-ordinates communications between the many organisations involved with MLT.
Corinna Parry: Administration ManagerCorinna organises the office and acts as administrator for both MLT and MLTW. Corinna is a fluent Welsh speaker.
